Watch Happy Birthday to Me Online!

November 30th, 2009 by douglas6133640

While I’ve watched Happy Birthday to Me a lot, it seems to never get old. I guess it’s one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen it, or just haven’t watched it in a while – why not watch it now? Of course you can watch it later – for free – check the image to see how. It’s the best way I’ve found

Watch Happy Birthday to Me Online!

This is a great movie with Melissa Su Anderson, Glenn Ford, Lawrence Dane, Sharon Acker, Frances Hyland (II)

Basically it’s about:
Happy Birthday to Me typifies the horror genre prior to the self-reflection and irony that saturated the genre in the late ’80s and ’90s. A solid cast, decent acting, a well-written script, and relatively high production valus result in a solid movie that is engaging on its own in addition to offering a glimpse into the history of ’80s horror. The plot follows the rules of the genre (later parodied in such films as the Scream and Scary Movie series). A number of teenagers (played by actors who appear visibly older than their characters) from an elite prep school get into mischievous sexual situations fuled by alcohol and pot smoking. As teens start to disappear, murdered in a variety of violent ways, the film suggests a number of suspects. Is the killer the troubled star played by Melissa Su Anderson who lost her overbearing, social-climbing mother in a car accident that she survived? Or is it the stern school mistress, the wacky, cool social clown, the social misfit, or none of the above? The film keeps you gussing until the final scene. Happy Birthday is a must-see for serious fans of the horror genre and this release is a solid digital mastering of the movie. Hardcore fans should note that the DVD release was not able to secure the rights to the original soundtrack so this version features an alternate soundtrack of largely nondescript ’80s electronic music. –Brian Saltzman

Get Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? Online

Get Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? Online

With his film adaptation of his play of the same name, Tyler Perry asks the qustion, “Why did I get married?” The answer is different for each of the four couples featured in this relationship comedy, which includes Janet Jackson as a psychologist whose own marriage is on shaky ground. Not known for subtlety, Perry hammers in the point that no marriage is perfect–just as no one is completely blameless. Even when he presents a thoughtless husband who cheats on his wife with her hot best friend, he doesn’t present the wife as a helpless martyr. As portrayed by singer Jill Scott, Sheila is an overweight woman who is cowed by her bully of a husband. But the happily ever after that awaits her is almost worth all the verbal abuse she has taken from her philandering spouse. Scott is wonderful in her role and showcases a depth of real emotions. She also brings great humor to her role (After knocking someone out, she asks a police officer, “Did I kill him?… I should’ve killed him.”) Delivered by anyone else, the line would’ve been callous, but Scott is believable. Jackson, who looks lovely on screen, has a smaller role and does what she can as a wife who is having a difficult time coming to terms with the death of her young son. As for Perry, who plays the cuckolded husband of a high-powered attorney, he tones down his act to succinctly convey hurt, anger, and resentment. Though he’s best known for his broad, physical comedies, he shows a deft hand at tackling answers to a very complicated qustion–even if the answer may be a work in progress. –Jae-Ha Kim

OK. If you like Perry, you’re going to love this movie. I’ve been a fan for a long time, and I’ve seen Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? a lot. I never get tired of it. Have you seen it? If you click the image above you can learn how you can watch it now, or any time.

If you haven’t heard of Rameau – Platee / Agnew, Delunsch, Beuron, Naouri, Le Texier, Lamprecht, Minkowski, Paris Opera, here’s a quick plot:
This Paris Opera production of Rameau’s burlesqu on the vicissitudes of love, is a “pure joy from start to splashing finish” (Wall Street Journal Europe). “Laurent Pelly’s staging of Platee is an exhilarating display of gags and West Side Story dance routines mixed in with satirical rap…Marc Minkowski conducting the excellent Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble was the instigator of a sparkling orchestral fete” (Opera Now). “Veritable revelation musicale et dramaturgiqu, la production n’a rien perdu de son implacable cruaute, de son joyeux piquant ni de sa noirceur et de son ineffable pouvoir de nostalgie” (Le Monde).

If you like Paul Agnew, then you’ll LOVE Rameau – Platee / Agnew, Delunsch, Beuron, Naouri, Le Texier, Lamprecht, Minkowski, Paris Opera! Watch it for the first time, or just watch it again! I really enjoyed this movie.

Watch Willie Nelson – Last of the Breed Online!

November 29th, 2009 by douglas6133640

Thought you might like to know the best place to watch Willie Nelson – Last of the Breed online. This is THE place taking the Internet by storm. Check it out for yourself right now – you can thank me later.

Watch Willie Nelson - Last of the Breed Online!

*** Download Willie Nelson – Last of the Breed Online!! ***

Traditional Western swing and good ol’ fashioned honky-tonk music just doesn’t get any better than this. With a short run of 15 performances in 2007, the Last of the Breed tour united Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Ray Price to celebrate their elder-statesmen status as Country Music Hall of Famers with over 150 years of shared experience between them. They truly are the last of their breed, and their history speaks for itself: Price gave Willie his first big career break in the late 1950s (he signed Nelson to tour with him–as a bass player!), and Nelson played a pivotal role with Haggard on some of country music’s most beloved collaborations. Their continud vitality is on full display throughout this 35-song concert recorded at the Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, Illinois, on March 25, 2007. It’s a mid-sized venu, and this was strictly a no-frills performance with a plain stage, a sold-out crowd, and the pure pleasure of masterful musicianship. At 81 years old, Price looks rheumy and tired at times (he was ailing toward the end of the tour), but his soothing voice remains smooth and steady through such time-honored hits as “For the Good Times” and “San Antonio Rose,” with the Cherokee Cowboys providing flawless back-up in Grand Ol’ Opry tradition.

Led by Ray Benson throughout the two-hour concert, Asleep at the Wheel performs a pair of golden oldies (”Route 66″ and “Miles and Miles of Texas”) before Merle Haggard comes on for an eight-song set, effortlessly demonstrating his skill with fiddle and Fender. By the time Willie Nelson strolls onstage to trade vocals with Haggard on “Okie from Muskogee,” “Pancho and Lefty,” and three other favorites, it’s clear that Last of the Breed is truly something special. This isn’t the best performance ever given by these men or these bands (including Mickey Raphael on harmonica and Theresa Lane Haggard on backup vocals), but it’s darn sure good enough, with some blissful moments of perfection at regular intervals. Special gust Freddie Powers appears for a breezy rendition of “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter,” and then Nelson, Haggard, and Price trade vocals on three songs (including Nelson’s timeless classic “Crazy”) before Willie takes over for a five-song set of his solo classics, including “On the Road Again,” a pair of humorous new songs (”Superman” and “You Don’t Think I’m Funny Anymore”) and a show-closing performance of “Whiskey River” with everyone onstage. Despite a few rough edges, Last of the Breed is still a treasure to cherish, not simply for long-time devotees of country music but for anyone who wants to see and hear (in crisp, clean 5.1-channel digital surround sound) what real country music should sound like. DVD bonus features include Benson’s delightful half-hour interview with Nelson, Haggard, and Price, and Nelson’s personally guided tour of his lavishly appointed tour bus. For anyone who cares about the legacy of country music’s greatest performers, Last of the Breed is nothing less than essential. –Jeff Shannon
